Ask for references or reviews from businesses like yours, especially for regular or high-value work.

How to find a haulage company for your load
Most businesses find a haulier in one of three ways: calling local haulage companies, going through a broker or forwarder, or posting the job on a freight exchange. Each can work. The difference is how long it takes and who takes a cut.
Calling round local haulage companies
A local firm can be a great fit for regular work nearby, but finding one with the right vehicle free on the right day can take a lot of calls. Smaller hauliers are often out on the road, so a quick answer isn't guaranteed.
Using a broker
A broker finds the haulier for you and adds a margin on top of what the haulier is paid. That can be worth it for complicated jobs, but on a straightforward load you pay extra for something you could arrange yourself.

Posting is free during launch. After that Laydn is one flat membership of £44.99 a month for everyone, with unlimited users, and you'll get a month's notice before anything is charged. Laydn never takes a cut of the rate you agree.

Neither. Laydn is the software that connects you with carriers. You award the job, deal with the carrier directly and pay them the rate you set.
Can I post a load for collection today?
Yes. You can post for collection today or a future date, and carriers with a matching alert are told when it's posted.
What should I check before I book a haulier?
Check their operator's licence if they run goods vehicles over 3.5 tonnes, what their goods in transit insurance covers, and references from other customers. On Laydn you can open a carrier's documents before you award. They're shown as uploaded, and Laydn doesn't check them.
