What the stars and badges mean
The stars
Members' opinions. Once a job is marked complete, each side can rate the other, once. Ratings are the opinions of the members who gave them (Terms 3.4).
Nobody sees a score. Neither side sees the other's stars, and no member is shown a score, their own included — only the badge.
When a rating counts. Once both sides have rated the job, or after 14 days if the other side never does.
Tags don't score. They change neither the score nor the badge, and only your account sees the tags it gave.
The badges
A blended score. Every account starts as if it already had 5 ratings of 4 stars, so one job barely moves it.
TrustedAt least 4 counted ratings and a blended score of 4.2 or more.
Top RatedAt least 12 counted ratings and a blended score of 4.6 or more.
Worked out afresh every time it's shown, so a badge can be lost as well as earned. Ratings received as carrier and as poster share one score.
Where it shows. Beside a company's name on the loads it posts, and on this page.
Badges reflect other members' ratings. Laydn doesn't verify members — you're responsible for your own due diligence (Terms 3.5).

You pay Mercer Haulage Ltd direct, on the terms you agreed. Laydn never invoices you for a load.
Signing the job off and rating it don't move any money. Laydn isn't a party to the job and takes no commission (Terms 3.2).
